That's the way they treat Methodists in South Carolina

A deservedly obscure politician, Jake Knotts, in South Carolina has made national headlines in the US for calling Methodist candidate for State Governor, Nikki Haley, "raghead".

Knotts apparently claimed there was already one "raghead" in the White House and he didn't want one in the Governor's mansion.

Why was Nikki Haley subjected to this comment? Her parents come from India and were Methodist converts from Sihkism. Full story in Newsweek.

This is one Republican calling another Republican, with stronger backing, names. This is not about Methodism or Race but about dirty politics. Both major US parties are facing a great deal of change as voters get rid of long-time incumbents. Not unlike what has happened here, but more effectively.
