Visiting a church
Not certain I agree with his methods or conclusions but Mike Holmes raises a number of issues as he describes his experience as a stranger at a church somewhere in the USA.
I thought the post was very thought provoking and raised a number of very good points. Sometimes we would all do well to examine ourselves and our motives.
I know exactly what you mean and sometimes us preachers are guilty because we assume everyone knows what is going on. I once went to a funeral at a particular church and was totally lost with the standing and kneeling and sitting. Fortunately the next time I went someone gave me a booklet with little pictures at the side of the text which was a great help
Methodist Preacher has a guest page where non-bloggers can get their ideas amongst the Methodist community.
Your views don't have to coincide with those of Methodist Preacher but the subject matter should be of interest to Methodists and other people of faith.

Sometimes we have visitors at our church and things don't quite go how we would like. We wince, they are embarrassed and we don't see them again.
