Vestry Prayers from the Fat Prophet

One of the lovely privileges of being a Methodist Preacher is that before each service there is a very private moment in the vestry when the preacher ceases to lead and the society stewards quietly pray for the preacher and the service.

After a busy week and the hectic preparation for a service it can be such a relief to hand over, however briefly to someone else.

Fat Prophet
in Walsall is now producing a series of "Vestry prayers" for use by stewards on such occasions.

I'm hoping that soon he will have produced a critical mass of prayers, consolidated them on one place on the site and I will place a link from the resources section on the side bar of this site. Better still, why not a little booklet? "Vestry Prayers from the Fat Prophet", has a certain ring about it.

Thanks MP I have already produced such a book for lectionary year 'B' as my project at the end of the Faith and Worship course I had seriously considered trying to get it published properly but it's just one of those things I never got round to. Who knows I might and I might even work out how to put them all in one place on my blog - and I might even work out how to put the time right.

FP I've had at least one hit today via google from someone looking for "Methodist vestry prayers" so I think you may be on to something. We'll have a chat sometime about organising your stuff in one place.
