Well I've just returned from a fantastic weekend in Dulverton, Somerset where I attended Andrew and Sam's wedding. Most of us stayed at the Lion Hotel which can be highly recommended: very clean, nice and comfortable and the most amazing full English breakfast anyone could possibly want. The staff were really helpful.
The service at St Nicolas, Brushford was just right for the couple and the occasion. The Vicar, John, knew exactly the right thing to say. The hymns were Give me oil in my lamp, Shine Jesus Shine and Jerusalem.
The reception was held at the Quarryman's Rest, just over the border in Bampton, Devon. The food was superb and a good time was had by all.
Then in the evening it was back to the Town Hall Dulverton for a knees up.
The following morning I was up in time to attend the 8.00 am 1662 communion service in the Dulverton Parish Church. A beautiful end to a fantastic weekend.

Could this be the beginning of a concession towards Anglican Methodist re-union? Probably not, but we live in hope.
